San Jose, California, April 27, 2012 — Micrel, Incorporated (Nasdaq NM: MCRL), an industry leader in analog, high bandwidth communications and Ethernet IC solutions, today announced financial results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2012. First quarter revenues of $61.2 million were up by $2.4 million, or 4.0 percent, from $58.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2011. The increase in revenues was driven by overall demand from customers in most geographies and end markets. Compared to the same period last year, first quarter 2012 revenues were lower by $6.3 million.
